2027: Agatu United Support Group tasks Agatu Nation To Unite Behind Wadada, Doles Out N1.5m In Agbashi

The Agatu community in Nasarawa State has been urged to unite and rally behind the governorship aspiration of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, who has been described as a bona fide son of the Agatu nation.
The call was made by the State Coordinator of Agatu United for Wadada 2027, Mr. God'spower Ede, during an empowerment and sensitization outreach organized by the group in Agbashi, headquarters of Ekye Area Administrative Council, on Saturday.
According to Ede, Senator Wadada's ancestral ties to the Agatu people make his political project a collective concern for the community. He called on the people to close ranks, unite across political divides, and support the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 general elections.
He noted that a strong and united voting bloc would enable the community to have a voice and negotiate more effectively for government projects, appointments and other dividends of democracy.
"We believe that by the time Wadada gets to that office, he will initiate policies and programmes that will benefit the entire people of Nasarawa State and Agatu people in particular, who have not really felt government presence in their localities," he said.
Ede further explained that the empowerment programme, which targeted over 100 beneficiaries with over N1.5 million, was part of the group's efforts to provide relief to struggling families and deepen awareness of Senator Wadada's governorship bid among Agatu communities.
Speaking at the event, the Overseer of Ekye Area Administrative Council, Prince Abubakar Jibrin Engya, who was represented by a Council member, Rebecca Enoch; the APC Chairman of Agbashi Ward, Shagari Sabo; Coordinator of the Wadada Project Support Group in Ekye, Ayuba Sunday Ogba, and the State Women Wing representative of the Wadada Campaign Group, Dorcas Jeremiah, called for greater mobilization of the Agatu community ahead of 2027.
They expressed optimism that supporting Senator Wadada and other APC candidates would strengthen the relationship between the Agatu community and the state government, pledging to work for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
In their separate remarks, the leader of Agbashi Youth Group, Job Jeremiah; Alh. Haruna Azan, representing the elders; and the Women Leader of the Wadada Support Group in Agbashi, commended the organizers for the initiative, describing the empowerment programme as historic for the Agatu community.
Earlier, the group paid a traditional homage to the Utushoho of Agbashi, Mr. Moses Adgashi Alade, to seek royal blessings. The delegation was received at the palace by traditional title holders.
Highlights of the event were the presentation of cash assistance to selected beneficiaries and the inauguration of coordinators and women leaders across five electoral wards of Agbashi, Rukubi, Akpanaja, Doka in Ekye and Udeni Magaji in Udege Area Administrative Councils to drive grassroots mobilization in their respective communities.
