Bauchi gov swears in four new commissioners

The Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, has sworn in four new commissioners, warning them that his administration will not tolerate misconduct or the abuse of public trust.
The Governor explained that the new appointments followed the voluntary resignation of previous State Executive Council members who stepped down to contest in the 2027 general elections.
He noted that to ensure continuous and balanced representation, the new commissioners were selected from the same local government areas as their predecessors and emphasized that their selection was strictly based on competence, experience, and credibility.
Muhammad similarly announced the redeployment of Adamu Babayo Gabarin to Culture and Tourism; Abdul Hassan to Rural Development and Special Duties; and Muhammad Hamisu Shira to Finance and Economic Development, while Hassan El-Yakub and Usman Usman will maintain their current roles overseeing the Ministries of Local Government and Water Resources, respectively.
Governor Muhammad ordered the new officials to quickly align with government policies and collaborate closely with permanent secretaries and career civil servants.
Highlighting his administration’s achievements since assuming office in 2019, Muhammad cited significant investments in road infrastructure, education, healthcare, water supply, security and youth empowerment.
He said the government’s interventions had transformed Bauchi State and earned it recognition as one of the fastest-growing economies in the North-East.
The governor assured residents that his administration would continue to execute people-oriented projects until the end of its tenure, with emphasis on improving living standards through infrastructure, job creation and human capital development.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accountability, insisting that funds entrusted to government officials must be used solely for projects and programmes that improve the lives of citizens.
The governor equally reminded the new commissioners that public office remains under constant public scrutiny, demanding strict adherence to due process and the prudent management of resources.
The oath of office and oath of allegiance were administered by the Chief Judge of Bauchi State, Justice Talatu Umar.
The newly inaugurated commissioners are Madaki Ahmed Gololo (Gamawa), Bashir Ya’u (Katagum), Bashir Adamu Rishi (Toro) and Alhaji Baraya Ibrahim (Warji)..
Portfolios assigned to the new commissioners include Madaki Ahmad Gololo for the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives, Bashir Yau for the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Bashir Adamu Rishi for the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, and Baraya Ibrahim for the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated commissioners, Alhaji Baraya Ibrahim expressed appreciation to the governor for the confidence reposed in them and pledged their loyalty and commitment to the administration.
He assured the governor that the new commissioners would discharge their responsibilities diligently, uphold the law and contribute meaningfully to the continued development of Bauchi State.
