Ahead of the 2027 General Election,some groups of syndicates have now embarked on producing fake Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) and National Identity Numbers (NINs),in Niger State.
The syndicates,according to our findings, have produced a total of 189 PVC and 105 NINs and sold them to unsuspecting members of the Community in Niger State.
It was reliably gathered that the fake PVC is being sold at the rate of N2000 while the NIN is sold at N1000 to unsuspecting members of the public.
Areas where the sensitive National documents are being sold according to our source, include Munya and Wushishi local government areas.
So far,it was gathered that these syndicates made a huge amount of N3 million from the sales of the products within the Month of June 2026.
Already,a 42 years old Mohammed Aliyu Buba who is said to have been in possession of some numbers of the fake PVC and NINs is now cooling his heels in the Police net.
Confirming the report at a newsbriefing,the Commissioner of Police in Niger State,CP Abdullahi Adamu Elleman stated that the suspects have revealed that he has produced over 1000 of the fake PVC to unsuspecting members of the public.
He stated that the operatives of the Tactical Support Team (STS),received intelligence reports and swiftly commenced investigation which led to the arrest of one of the syndicates at his residence in Angwan- Sarki area in Minna.
According to the Commissioner of Police, during a search in his house,a total of 105 fake NIN and 189 fake PVC were recovered in his possession adding that during interrogation “ it was revealed that the suspect specialized in producing the fake PVCs for unsuspecting members of the community particularly around Wushishi and Munya local government areas.
CP Adamu Elleman further told journalists that the suspect charges his victims N2000 per NIN and N1000 per person and has made over (N3000,000) so far as proceeds of the crime.
In another major breakthrough,the CP disclosed that five suspected armed robbers who have been terrorizing residents of Gauraka in Tafa local government area were arrested by men of the patrol teams of the Command.
Also,CP Abdullahi Adamu Elleman told journalists the Command within the Month of July,2026 arrested a total of 71 suspected criminals ,recovered,10 assorted AK Rifles,15 AK Magazines,330 ammunitions,rescued 9 children from traffickers and rescued one abducted baby.
The Command displayed assorted arms and ammunition, several numbers of tramadol drugs and other exhibits were displayed to journalists during the press briefing.
CP Adamu Elleman attributed the breakthrough recorded by his command,to the unwavering commitment of officers and men of the Command for displaying high level of professionalism in the discharge of their duty assuring that he will not compromise in ensuring that their welfare will be given the deserving attention.
