 The Federal Government has conducted the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for admission into Federal and State Technical Colleges, alongside a pilot Computer-Based Test (CBT) exercise coordinated by NABTEB.

The admission examination was conducted successfully nationwide and across various centres, including Federal Technical College, Orozo, and Government Secondary School, Garki, Abuja. 

 Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, who was represented by Director of Technology and Science Education, Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs. Patricia Ogungbemi, monitored the exercise in some selected centres.

Dr Alausa encouraged the candidates to embrace technical and vocational education as a pathway to self-reliance, innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment.

The Minister representative highlighted the opportunities available to Technical College graduates, including access to practical, industry-relevant skills and government-supported initiatives that promote job creation and economic growth.

A major feature of the exercise was the pilot CBT session conducted after the conventional examination. 

The initiative was designed to assess readiness for the future transition to a fully computer-based examination system across the country.

The successful conduct of both exercises according toBoriowo Folasade, Director, Press and Public Relations , Federal Ministry of Education in a press statement underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to digital transformation, assessment integrity, and quality technical education.
