Democracy Day: Nasarawa Speaker Pays Tribute to Founding Fathers, Calls for Prayers and Support for Leaders

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, has paid glowing tribute to Nigeria's founding fathers as the nation marks the 27th Democracy Day celebration.
In a statement issued in Lafia through his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna, the Speaker described June 12 as a unique and historic milestone in Nigeria's democratic journey, noting that the occasion is worthy of celebration and reflection.
Dr. Jatau urged Nigerians to intensify prayers for the country, especially at a time when it is facing security, economic and other emerging challenges.
He also called on citizens to continue supporting leaders and governments at all levels to enable them deliver more democratic dividends to the people.
The Speaker congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Abdullahi Sule and Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day, while expressing optimism about the nation's future.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the 7th Nasarawa State House of Assembly to enacting people-oriented legislation and providing the necessary support for policies and programmes that will improve the welfare of citizens.
Dr. Jatau also acknowledged the immense contributions of Nigeria's founding fathers, saying their sacrifices and efforts laid the foundation for the country's democratic development and would never be forgotten.
The Speaker urged citizens to remain hopeful, sustain their support for government and continue praying for the nation's progress, stressing that collective efforts are needed to overcome current challenges and build a stronger Nigeria.
While appreciating members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for their cooperation and support, he reiterated his commitment to an inclusive leadership style.
He assured that the Assembly would continue to collaborate with other arms of government to advance development and ensure the delivery of democratic dividends across the state.
Dr. Jatau further commended the people of Nasarawa State for their continued solidarity and support for the government, assuring them of better days ahead.
He also emphasized the need for sustained peace, unity and harmonious coexistence among citizens, irrespective of religious, ethnic or political differences, describing these values as essential for the state's growth and development.
