Accord Party Rejects Olawepo-Hashim Presidential Candidacy, Describes Affirmation Results as Fabricated

The Accord Party in Nasarawa State has disowned the purported affirmation results that allegedly produced 47,309 votes in support of Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, describing the figures as fabricated, misleading, and lacking constitutional legitimacy.
The state Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Oshi B. Ebegye, made the position known in a statement, insisting that no affirmation primary election was conducted in Nasarawa State and that the reported figures did not emanate from any recognized party process.
According to him, the total membership strength of the Accord Party in Nasarawa State is below 4,000 members, making the claim of 47,309 affirmative votes highly questionable and inconsistent with realities on the ground.
Ebegye further stated that several states, including Nasarawa, Katsina, Zamfara, Borno, Yobe, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Bauchi, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, and Lagos, did not participate in any affirmation exercise as claimed in recent publications.
He maintained that there was no coordinated, verifiable, or officially recognized affirmation process conducted in the affected states, stressing that the figures being circulated were unverified and detached from legitimate party structures and activities.
The party spokesman also argued that Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim did not satisfy the constitutional requirements necessary to emerge as the Accord Party's presidential candidate, adding that any publication suggesting otherwise should be disregarded by party members and the general public.
While rejecting the purported results in their entirety, Ebegye reaffirmed the party's commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and due process, emphasizing that only exercises conducted in accordance with the provisions of the party's constitution would be recognized as valid.
He called on stakeholders and supporters of the party to disregard the circulated figures, insisting that they do not represent any authentic or constitutionally recognized process of the Accord Party.
