250 HORSES PARTICIPATE IN ZARIA INTERNATIONAL HORSE RACING DERBY

No fewer than 250 Horses along side 25 Owners and Jockies participated in the just concluded 3 day International horse racing tournament of various categories tagged "Renewed Hope Zaria 2026" organized by Horse Racing Federation of Nigeria (HRFN) held at Muhammadu Aminu Square, Zaria where the final Race took place on at the weekend in which 7 Races were featured in addition of 17 Races conducted from opening ceremony day which was Wednesday and Thursday last week bringing the total number of Races to 24 during the tournament.
The Races featured at the final day were Alhaji Balarabe Lawal Abbas, Minister of Environment's Cup which Horse Pajero owned by Alhaji Mamman with Gambo as Jockey from Zaria took First position, Alhaji Yahaya, CFR, Etsu Nupe's Cup which Horse Hayaniya belonging to Ameer stable from Katsina with Jockey Babangida immerged the winner and took home Trophy and brand new car.
Other Horses that took the positions include Lailatul Qadir owned by S D stable from Niger State with Jockey Dan Barde in Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR, 19th Emir of Zazzau'Cup, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar III, CFR, Sultan of Sokoto's cup which Horse Tauheed owned ny S D Stable with Babangida jockey took First position and Horse Hayaniya owned by Alhaji Tajuddeen Dantata with Jockey Babangida took position in Rt Hon Abbass Tajuddeen, GCON (Iyan Zazzau) Speaker House of Representatives's Cup.
Others were Horse Mutaziz belonging to Speedy Stable from Bauchi with hockey Alh Hussaini also took the first position.
Our Correspondent reports that the 6 Horse took home brand new car and Trophies while those that immerged 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions received the prizes of 1,000 000.00, 600,000.00 and 400,000.00 respectively.
In an interview with Journalists, the National Coordinator, Horse Racing Federation of Nigeria (HRFN) Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha Bida, Sarkin Dawakin and Sarkin Sukuwan Kasar Hausa appreciated the Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt Hon Abbass Tajudeen, Iyan Zazzau for keeping to his promise to renovate Zaria Race course located at Muhammadu Aminu Square which had been bad shape for past 14 or 15 years following the suspension horse Racing
He pointed out that the renovation work has already commenced.
"This is the Second race taking in this historic race course after the revival of the Horse racing in the country North in Particular under the Chairmanship the Federation's chairman, Alh Tajuddeen Dantata with full of Mr president, His Excellncy Alhaji ,blueAhmed Bola Tinubu.
His Words "By next year when we come back for the 3rd Race you will see brand new Race Course."
