NDC Nasarawa Denies ₦20 Million Bribery Allegation Against State Chairman, Dismisses Claims as False
Party challenges accusers to provide evidence, insists House of Representatives primary was conducted transparently and in line with constitutional guidelines.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Nasarawa State Chapter, has strongly refuted allegations that its State Chairman, Comrade Dogo Shammah, collected ₦20 million to manipulate the party's House of Representatives primary election for the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency.
In a statement issued by the party's State Publicity Secretary, Danjuma Joseph, the NDC described the allegation as false, malicious, and a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation of the state chairman and destabilize the party in Nasarawa State.
The party said it was compelled to respond to the allegations to prevent the public from misconstruing its silence as an admission of guilt.
According to the statement, Comrade Dogo Shammah neither received money from any aspirant nor directed any party official to prepare predetermined election results during the primary process.
The NDC specifically denied claims that the chairman collected funds from any aspirant, including Hon. Benjamin Wayo, to influence the outcome of the primary election.
The party maintained that the chairman has consistently demonstrated commitment to fairness, party unity, and democratic principles, stressing that the NDC operates on the foundations of equity, transparency, and internal democracy.
"It is not only untrue but also an insult to the integrity of our party structure and members who participated in the process in good faith to suggest that the chairman compromised the primary election for financial gain," the statement noted.
The party challenged those behind the allegations to provide credible and verifiable evidence to substantiate their claims.
The NDC further urged party members, supporters, and the general public to disregard what it described as misinformation, insisting that both the state and national leadership of the party are fully aware of the facts surrounding the primary election.
The statement added that the primary election was conducted in full compliance with the party's constitution and electoral guidelines.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to unity, transparency, and democratic processes as it prepares for future electoral engagements in the state.
