Nasarawa Ministry Clarifies No Ban on Traditional Rulers Hosting Governorship Aspirants
Says No Directive Was Issued Restricting Political Consultations in Palaces

The Nasarawa State Ministry for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs has dismissed as false and misleading reports alleging that traditional rulers in the state were barred from receiving governorship aspirants in their palaces.
In a press statement issued by the ministry, it clarified that neither Governor Abdullahi Sule nor the ministry issued any directive restricting royal fathers from hosting political aspirants.
The ministry described the publication circulating on social media and some online platforms as unfounded and not representative of the position of the ministry.
According to the statement signed by Ibrahim Adamu Shigafarta, Director of Public Relations and Protocol for the ministry, traditional institutions in Nasarawa State remain respected custodians of culture, peace, and unity.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the dignity, respect, and autonomy of traditional rulers across the state, stressing that the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule would continue to accord royal fathers the honour befitting their status.
The ministry therefore urged the public, political stakeholders, and traditional rulers to disregard the misinformation and rely only on official communication channels for authentic information regarding policies and directives.
