Judiciary, Ministry of Justice, FIDA, Security Agencies Hold Quarterly Criminal Justice Committee Meeting in Lafia
Nasarawa Chief Judge, Stakeholders Advocate Stronger Collaboration for Effective Justice Administration

The International Federation of Women Lawyers Nasarawa State Branch, alongside key stakeholders in the justice sector, convened a quarterly meeting of the Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee in Lafia on Thursday, May 15, 2026.
The meeting brought together representatives of the judiciary, Ministry of Justice, security agencies, legal practitioners and other relevant stakeholders to deliberate on ways of strengthening the administration of criminal justice in Nasarawa State.
Speaking during the session, the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Aisha Usman, emphasized the need for sustained collaboration among institutions involved in justice administration to ensure speedy dispensation of justice and protection of citizens’ rights.
Also in attendance was Justice Simon Aboki, alongside senior officers of security agencies, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police and legal professionals across the state.
The State Chairperson of International Federation of Women Lawyers, Barrister Halima Hudu Abubakar, reiterated the commitment of the association to promoting justice, safeguarding human rights and supporting reforms aimed at improving the criminal justice system.
Participants at the meeting reviewed challenges affecting the implementation of criminal justice procedures and explored strategies for improved coordination among law enforcement agencies, courts and other stakeholders in the justice sector.
The quarterly meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional cooperation and enhance effective justice delivery across Nasarawa State.
