Hard Work Rewarded as NTA Lafia Honours Mohammed Lawal, Kigbu, Others
Permanent Secretary Commends Professional Excellence, Urges Ethical Journalism

The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Lafia has honoured veteran broadcaster, Comrade Mohammed Mohammed Lawal, alongside other outstanding staff including Joshua Mosses Kigbu, in recognition of their dedication and exceptional service to the organisation over the years.
The honour, which coincided with Lawal’s retirement from active service, marked the end of a distinguished and impactful career in broadcasting.
Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Hajiya Hadiza Dahiru, who represented the Commissioner, Dr. Ibrahim Tanko, commended the management of NTA Lafia for sustaining a culture of excellence by recognising and rewarding commitment.
She described the honouree as a seasoned media professional whose immense contributions have significantly strengthened the media landscape in Nasarawa State, urging him to remain a worthy ambassador of the organisation in his post-retirement life.
Hajiya Dahiru also charged media practitioners across the state to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, emphasising the need for accuracy, balance, and credibility through proper verification of reports before publication.
She further called on stakeholders in the media industry to continue supporting the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule in its development efforts.
In her remarks, the General Manager of NTA Lafia, Hajiya Ramatu Salaudeen, congratulated all award recipients and encouraged staff to remain committed to duty, urging them to strive for excellence in subsequent years.
Also honoured at the event was Joshua Mosses Kigbu, who received the Best Performing Reporter Award for three consecutive years—2023, 2024, and 2025—in recognition of his outstanding performance, alongside other staff members who excelled in their respective departments during the period under review.
The event underscored NTA Lafia’s commitment to promoting excellence and motivating its workforce for greater productivity and professionalism.
