2,839 Corps Members Sworn in for 2026 Service in Nasarawa
Gov. Abdullahi Sule Declares Orientation Open, Assures Welfare and Rewards for Excellence

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sworn in 2,839 Batch A Stream II corps members deployed to Nasarawa State for the 2026 national service programme.
Declaring the orientation exercise open at the Magaji Dan-Yamusa NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Governor Abdullahi Sule, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Yakubu Kwanta, congratulated the corps members on the successful completion of their academic pursuits.
The governor described their posting to Nasarawa as advantageous, citing the state’s proximity to the Federal Capital Territory and its vast untapped economic opportunities.
He further noted that the state’s peaceful environment provides a safe and enabling atmosphere for corps members throughout their service year.
Governor Sule assured the corps members of continued government support, particularly for those who distinguish themselves through impactful community development initiatives.
“Any corps member who initiates a project or programme that impacts a host community positively will be duly recognized and rewarded by our administration,” he stated.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rewarding excellence and sustaining the welfare of corps members, while emphasizing that the orientation course is designed to equip participants with essential skills for effective service delivery.
The governor urged the corps members to uphold the ideals of the scheme with dedication and patriotism, and to familiarize themselves with the NYSC bye-laws as a guide for a successful service year.
He also commended the NYSC management and partner agencies for their dedication to promoting national unity and integration.
In her remarks, the State Coordinator of the scheme, Salamatu Muhammad, appreciated the governor for his consistent support and commitment to youth development.
She described the orientation course as a critical platform for instilling discipline, unity, and a strong sense of responsibility among corps members.
Muhammad added that the corps members deployed to the state have demonstrated resilience, unity, and enthusiasm since their arrival at the orientation camp.
