APC Governorship Aspirant Expands Annual Education Support Scheme Across 178 Wards

Kashim Musa Tumsah, a development advocate and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Yobe State ahead of the 2027 general elections, has sponsored the registration of over 500 students for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The sponsorship, executed under the KMT JAMB Sponsorship Programme, covers the full registration fees of eligible candidates drawn from across the 178 political wards in the 17 local government areas of Yobe State.
The initiative, which has become an annual intervention, is designed to support indigent students preparing to sit for the national entrance examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
According to the organisers, beneficiaries are randomly selected, with priority given to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The programme ensures equal access for both male and female candidates, while placing particular emphasis on supporting female students who often face barriers to further education due to poverty and other socio-economic challenges.
Beyond the payment of examination fees, the initiative also provides intensive preparatory training for the beneficiaries.
The coaching sessions are held at designated centres across the state to adequately equip the students for the examination.
Observers note that the sustained intervention reflects a broader commitment to educational development and human capital investment in Yobe State.
The KMT JAMB Sponsorship Programme has, over the years, continued to expand its reach, reinforcing efforts to improve access to tertiary education for underprivileged youths across the state.
