The family of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has reportedly declined an offer of a federal government aircraft approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the repatriation of their late matriarch from Egypt.
According to a report by Rariya News, the family stated that they had already secured a private aircraft to convey the remains to Nigeria, making the presidential offer unnecessary.
The development follows the death of El-Rufai’s mother, Hajiya Umma, who passed away in Cairo after a brief illness, prompting condolences from the President and other prominent Nigerians.
While turning down the offer, the family expressed appreciation to the Presidency for the gesture, describing it as a show of concern and solidarity during their moment of grief.
