Court Clears DCP Abba Kyari of 23 Criminal Charges Filed by NDLEA

A High Court sitting in Abuja has reportedly cleared former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, of 23 criminal charges earlier filed against him by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
The development was disclosed by legal practitioner, Hamza Nuhu Dantani, who explained that the court arrived at the decision after carefully reviewing arguments and evidence presented by both parties in the case.
According to Dantani, the court held that the evidence tendered by the NDLEA failed to convincingly establish that the former police officer committed the offences alleged against him.
He noted that the court further stated it would be inappropriate to link Kyari to the serious accusations brought against him, particularly those relating to alleged illicit wealth and corruption.
Dantani added that the court also described Kyari as a committed and experienced police officer who had made significant contributions to maintaining security in Nigeria.
However, the lawyer clarified that another separate case involving the former police chief is still pending before a different court, expressing optimism that justice will prevail in the matter in due course.
