They have consistently urged all the 'powers that be' in Igboland especially Igbo governors to do what other regional leaders do i.e. secure the freedom of their son, Kanu.
In response to this position, the governor of Anambra instead of dialogue has chosen combativeness and high handedness reminiscent of military dictatorship. What he seems to have forgotten was that these same traders were part of those who confronted the military dictatorship decades ago and eventually defeated them and ushered in the democracy fellows like Soludo are enjoying today.
It is because of the need to confront this new dictator that the global family of IPOB and all peace loving ndi Igbo are calling for a solidarity (Sit-at-home) across Biafraland in support of our Onitsha brethren and to force the hands of dictator Soludo, that following the path of peace (which is the meaning of his name) through continuous dialogue is a better option than the high handed tantrum he has been throwing.
IPOB long called off sit-at-home but still retained this policy as a strategic weapon to be applied when necessary. We, the global IPOB family has chosen to apply this strategy come Monday 2nd of February 2026 and only for that day, as a show of solidarity for our brothers in Onitsha and environment.
When will definitely go into deeper dialogue with our Onitsha brethren from the 3rd of February, to find a consensus and develop a path to a more peaceful resolution of the impasse.
For now, we all must stand in solidarity and stop this neo-dictator ready to plung peaceful Igboland into a new state of conflict all because of his personal political greed and allegiance to Fulani Nigeria.
