Attorney General commends Esu Karu, applauds organisers as top government officials, traditional rulers grace colourful carnival

The Nasarawa State Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, has described cultural heritage as a powerful instrument for promoting peace, unity and harmonious coexistence, saying communities that preserve their culture are more disposed to lasting peace and stability.
Barr. Danladi made the assertion at the Karu Peace and Unity Cultural Carnival, a vibrant cultural celebration held in Karu Local Government Area, where he appreciated the organisers for staging what he described as a timely and impactful event aimed at strengthening communal bonds.
According to him, culture remains a unifying force that instils values of tolerance, mutual respect and understanding among diverse groups, stressing that peace thrives where cultural identity is respected and celebrated.
“Where there is good and respected cultural heritage, there is peace. Culture teaches coexistence, respect and unity, which are essential for development,” he said.
The Attorney General particularly commended the Esu Karu for his unwavering commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence among the people of Karu Local Government Area. He noted that the traditional ruler’s leadership and support for cultural and peace-building initiatives have continued to foster harmony among the various ethnic and cultural groups in the area.
Barr. Danladi also praised the Esu Karu for supporting the carnival, describing the role of traditional institutions as critical in complementing government efforts to sustain peace and social cohesion at the grassroots.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Ibrahim Tanko Santurakin Keffi, who served as Chairman of the Occasion. Others in attendance were the Chairman of Karu Local Government Council, the Deputy Chairman, the Secretary of the Council, as well as traditional title holders from within and outside Karu Local Government Area.
The colourful carnival featured cultural displays, traditional music and dances, showcasing the rich cultural diversity of Karu and reinforcing the collective resolve of the people to live together in peace and unity.
The Nasarawa State Honorable Attorney General Barr. Danladi reaffirmed, remains committed to supporting cultural initiatives that promote peace, unity and sustainable development across the state.
