State Chairman Danlami Musa Describes Document as Fraudulent, Warns Impostor to Desist

The Nasarawa State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has debunked a viral letter claiming that the National Working Committee (NWC) has appointed an “acting State Chairman” for the party in the state.
In an official rejoinder issued on Wednesday, the SDP described the circulating document as fabricated, malicious, and a deliberate attempt by desperate individuals to create disaffection within the party ahead of the general elections.
No NWC Meeting Held — SDP
According to the statement, at no point did the National Working Committee meet to deliberate on any matter concerning the suspension of the state chairman or the appointment of a replacement.
The party said the claims “are false, baseless, and do not reflect the position of the national leadership.”
So-Called ‘Acting Chairman’ Declared Illegal
SDP Nasarawa insisted that the individual parading himself as acting chairman is unknown to both the state and national leadership of the party.
It noted that such conduct amounts to impersonation and warned him to immediately stop misleading the public.
Desperate Elements Meddling in Party Affairs
The rejoinder condemned the role of certain individuals it described as “mischief makers” who have contributed nothing to the progress of the SDP, yet seek to reap where they did not sow.
The party stated that those behind the fake letter have a track record of divisive behaviour and are attempting to gain power through illegal means.
External Sponsorship Suspected
The statement also raised concerns that the impostor may be acting as an agent of the opposition, describing the entire charade as “a futile mission doomed from the start.”
SDP Open to Loyal Members, Not Disgruntled Actors
While reiterating that the party welcomes all credible and well-meaning Nigerians, the leadership emphasized that it will not accommodate elements whose ambitions are rooted in chaos, manipulation, and blackmail.
Warning to Olu Agunloye
The party cautioned Mr. Olu Agunloye, whose signature appears on the fake letter, to desist from attempts to undermine party unity.
It added that any effort to destabilise the Nasarawa chapter will be met with strong and overwhelming resistance.
Party Faithful Urged to Remain Calm
The SDP called on its members across Nasarawa State and beyond to remain steadfast and not be swayed by the antics of “desperate and irrelevant individuals parading already disgraced personalities.”
SDP Nasarawa Remains United and Focused
The statement reaffirmed that the leadership structure of the party in Nasarawa State remains intact, committed, and aligned with the constitution and legitimate organs of the SDP.
