The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended one Mr Ogbu Simon, a suspected narcotics dealer, and recovered 17,500 sachets of Tramadol along with 487 packages of Diazepam (D 5), commonly referred to as “Yellow Voice.”
This was contained in a press statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmad Muhammad Wakil, and made available to journalists in Bauchi,
“On 26th November 2025 at about 2000 hours, based on credible intelligence provided by a concerned citizen, operatives from the Ningi Divisional Police Headquarters responded to reports of suspicious sacks being uploaded at a shop owned by Mr Ogbu Simon.”
The suspect is alleged to have been supplying narcotics from Onitsha, Anambra State, to the Ningi Local Government Area and surrounding regions.
In response to the intelligence report, a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ningi, CSP Surajo Ibrahim Birnin Kudu, executed a strategic raid on the shop located within Ningi town.
The operation resulted in the seizure of four bags containing suspected Diazepam (D 5) and Tramadol tablets.
The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed that the case be transferred to the Bauchi State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough and discreet investigation.
Furthermore, the command assigned the Operation Restore Peace (ORP) Unit to conduct an exhaustive investigation and apprehend the suspect.
Under the leadership of CSP Abdulrazak Fada, the team successfully arrested the individual, who confessed to being a dealer supplying drugs to various markets within and outside Ningi LGA.
At the point of arrest, items were recovered from the suspect, including 17,500 sachets of suspected Tramadol tablets (contained in polythene bags) and 487 packs of suspected D 5 Diazepam (Yellow Voice) (contained in sacks).
The estimated total value of the recovered narcotics is approximately ₦12,200,000.00.
The Commissioner of Police affirmed his unwavering commitment to combating drug-related crimes, urging the public to remain calm and continue cooperating with law enforcement authorities in the prevention, mitigation, and control of crime and criminality.
