Findings have revealed that a group of women in Nasarawa State are mobilizing to stage a protest against the Minister of Women Affairs, Dr. Iman Suleiman-Ibrahim, over what they described as the ministry’s failure to deliver on its promises to women and youth in the state.
According to the investigation, the planned protest stems from the recent empowerment programme organized by the ministry, which reportedly did not meet expectations.
Many participants lamented that they were sidelined and did not benefit from the exercise, despite assurances of inclusivity and fairness.
Sources close to the organizers disclosed that the women are demanding accountability and transparency from the ministry, alleging that the programme, meant to uplift women and youth economically, was poorly executed and failed to achieve its intended goals.
As tension continues to build, stakeholders are calling for calm and urging the Ministry of Women Affairs to address the concerns raised by the aggrieved women to prevent a breakdown of order.
