It was a solemn atmosphere at Jigwada, Keffi Local Government Area, as prominent government officials, colleagues, and community members gathered to pay their last respects to the late Mr. Solomon Zari, Principal of the School of Nursing, Lafia.
Leading the delegation were the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. John D.W. Mamman, and the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Gaza Gomna, alongside the Executive Chairman of Kokona Local Government Area.
Their presence, according to many, symbolized the recognition of the deceased’s remarkable service to education and healthcare development in Nasarawa State.
In their separate remarks, the Commissioners described the late Mr. Zari as a committed administrator and seasoned professional who dedicated his life to nurturing health practitioners through the School of Nursing, Lafia.
They noted that his contributions to the training of nurses had a direct impact on improving the healthcare delivery system in the state.
Community members and colleagues also spoke glowingly of the late principal, recalling his humility, discipline, and passion for excellence.
“Mr. Zari was not just a teacher but a mentor who shaped the lives of many nurses across the state and beyond,” one of his former students said.
The burial ceremony drew a large turnout of family members, friends, professional colleagues, and associates, all united in grief and in celebrating the life of a man many described as an icon of knowledge, service, and integrity.
The late Mr. Solomon Zari leaves behind a legacy of service, particularly in strengthening the foundation of nursing education in Nasarawa State.
