The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Dr. John D. W. Mamman, on Tuesday, attended the TETFund National Town Hall Meeting held at A-Class Park and Event Centre, Kashim Ibrahim Way, Wuse II, Abuja.
The event, organized by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), brought together Commissioners of Education, heads of tertiary institutions, policymakers, and other stakeholders to discuss the theme “Deepening Impact and Accountability in Tertiary Education Funding.”
In his remarks, Dr. Mamman commended TETFund for its consistent support toward improving infrastructure, research, and academic excellence in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
He reaffirmed the Nasarawa State Government’s commitment under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, to continue collaborating with the Fund in ensuring quality education delivery across the state.
He emphasized that education remains a top priority for the current administration, describing it as a vital tool for human capital development and socio-economic progress.
The Commissioner also used the occasion to interact with key education stakeholders, exploring ways to further enhance the efficiency and utilization of TETFund interventions in Nasarawa State-owned institutions.
Earlier in his keynote address, the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono, noted that the Town Hall meeting was designed to foster transparency, accountability, and stakeholder engagement in the management of education funds nationwide.
He highlighted several ongoing TETFund projects aimed at transforming Nigeria’s tertiary education landscape.
The meeting attracted representatives from federal and state ministries of education, rectors, vice-chancellors, provosts, and education experts who shared insights on policy implementation, institutional governance, and research collaboration.
