The Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Nasarawa State Chapter, in partnership with the Nasarawa State Government, has launched the distribution of 10,000 customized lesson plan notebooks and 20,000 biro pens to secondary school teachers across the state.
The official flag-off ceremony, held on Tuesday, 21st October, 2025, at the ASUSS State Secretariat behind Revenue House, Bukan Sidi, Lafia, was chaired by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Dr. John W. Mamman.
In his address, Dr. Mamman commended ASUSS for its forward-thinking initiative aimed at enhancing teachers’ efficiency and promoting quality education. He described the gesture as a significant contribution to the ongoing efforts of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to uplift the education sector.The National President of ASUSS, Comrade Olusola Oluborode Adigun, who served as the Chief Host, praised the Nasarawa State Chapter for its visionary leadership and dedication to the welfare of teachers.
Also speaking, the Chairman of ASUSS Nasarawa State Chapter, Comrade Bello Hamidu Kwara, said the distribution exercise was designed to motivate teachers and strengthen their commitment to effective lesson delivery.He thanked the Ministry of Education for its continued support and collaboration.
Teachers who benefited from the gesture expressed appreciation to ASUSS and the state government for their shared commitment to improving the standard of education in Nasarawa State.
