A political analyst has advised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nasarawa State to avoid zoning its governorship ticket ahead of the forthcoming elections.

According to the analyst, since it will be the party’s first time contesting the governorship seat in the state, it would be more strategic to leave the ticket open for all eligible aspirants rather than restricting it to a particular zone.

He argued that an open contest would provide the ADC the opportunity to field the most popular and capable candidate who can give the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a tough challenge at the polls.

The analyst further suggested that if the APC and PDP conduct their primaries before the ADC, the party could attract credible aspirants from those parties who might feel unfairly treated or denied a level playing ground.

He maintained that such a move would not only strengthen the ADC’s chances but also position it as a credible alternative platform for candidates with proven political strength and public appeal.
