Governor Abdullahi Sule on Friday, September 5, 2025, commissioned the newly constructed Central Mosque in Dari community, Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The mosque, built and donated by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. John Dogara Mamman, was described as a rare gesture of unity in a community predominantly inhabited by Christians.
Speaking at the event, Governor Sule commended Dr. Mamman for his magnanimity, noting that the project demonstrated peace, tolerance, and religious harmony.
The ceremony was attended by prominent personalities including former APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the Emir of Lafia and Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs, Justice Sidi Bage I (Rtd), the State Attorney General, Barr. Isaac Danladi, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, the Abaga Toni of Kokona, traditional rulers, religious leaders, politicians, and well-wishers.
In their goodwill messages, Senator Adamu, Justice Bage, and other leaders described the mosque as a symbol of peace and inclusivity.
Dr. Mamman said his motivation was to strengthen interfaith relations and provide the Muslim faithful in Dari with a befitting place of worship.
The Sangarin Dari, traditional ruler of the community, assured that the mosque will be properly maintained for the benefit of worshippers.
