Former Nasarawa State Governor and current Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura, on Tuesday, 16th September 2025, chaired the annual conference of Nigeria’s foremost teachers’ union at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).
The gathering brought together distinguished educators and key stakeholders dedicated to celebrating and strengthening the foundation of Nigeria’s educational system.
Sen. Al-Makura reaffirmed UBEC’s commitment to supporting teachers and advancing quality education, stressing that the nation’s future rests on the strength of those who nurture and guide its children.
