Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agyaga Electoral Ward, Akwanga North Constituency of Nasarawa State, have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term and Governor Abdullahi Sule for the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also endorsed were Hon. Dr. Jeremiah Umaru, Member representing Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency, and Hon. Larry Ven-Bawa, Chief Whip of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and representative of Akwanga North Constituency, both for a return to their respective legislative offices.The endorsement was announced on Sunday during an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Agyaga community, headquarters of the ward, by Hon. Monday Magaji, Councilor for Agyaga Ward and Speaker of the Akwanga Local Government Legislative Council.
Magaji said the decision reflected confidence in the leadership and developmental strides of the endorsed politicians. He explained that the meeting aimed to unite party members, strengthen the APC and mobilise grassroots support for the ruling party.Rt. Hon. Sunday Hassan, former Speaker of the Akwanga LG Legislative Council, moved the motion for endorsement, which was seconded by Hon. Sa-shi Goria of the Akwanga West Area Administrative Council.
In a related development, the APC ward chairman received more than 200 defectors from the opposition, including over 100 each from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), who officially joined the ruling party at the meeting.
Prominent attendees included Akwanga APC Chairman Hon. Abbas Liman, former Akwanga LG Speaker Rt. Hon. Sunday Hassan, former DPM Akwanga West Administrative Area Council Mr. Danjuma, and other key party stakeholders.
