Vice President Kashim Shettima has described the late Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami (rtd.), as a monarch whose legacies of peace, unity, and selfless service will continue to be remembered.
Speaking at the funeral ceremony organised by the Kebbi State Government in Zuru, Shettima, who led the Federal Government’s delegation, said he was at the event on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to honour a man who devoted his life to the service of his people and the nation.
He conveyed President Tinubu’s heartfelt condolences to the Kebbi State Government, the Zuru Emirate Council, and the family of the deceased, noting that the loss was not just to Kebbi State but to Nigeria as a whole.
“The late Emir of Zuru lived as a custodian of peace and a symbol of unity.
His legacies will remain evergreen in the hearts of his people and beyond,” Shettima said.
The Vice President also acknowledged the enduring relevance of traditional institutions in nation-building, stressing that the late Emir’s contributions will continue to inspire future generations.
