The Chairman of the Plateau State Football Association, Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, has led a high-powered delegation to the office of the Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, in Lafia, on a solidarity visit.
The courtesy call was aimed at celebrating Barr. Danladi as a key stakeholder in the promotion and development of sports, not only in Nasarawa State but also at the national level.
Hon. Kwande and his team were in Lafia to witness the final match of the 4th Edition of the Gusau/Ahlan Pre-Season Football Tournament, an annual competition hosted this year by the Nasarawa State Government at the Lafia Township Stadium.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Kwande lauded Barr. Danladi for his consistent support for football and other sporting activities, describing him as “one of our own” in the Nigerian sports family.
In his remarks, Barr. Danladi commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his unwavering support for sports and thanked him for entrusting him with the responsibility of serving as the State Attorney General.
He expressed gratitude to the Plateau FA delegation for the visit, noting that sports remain a unifying factor capable of fostering peace, youth empowerment, and national development.
The grand finale of the Gusau/Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament, a key preparatory event for Nigerian Professional Football League clubs, is expected to draw top football administrators, government officials, and fans from across the country.
