Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have converged on Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, for a crucial meeting on the future of the party.
Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, said the meeting was aimed at strengthening party unity and strategies to ensure the PDP remains a dominant force in Nigeria’s political landscape.
“We are here to reinforce the future of our great party and to renew our commitment to delivering policies that will truly benefit Nigerians,” he stated.
Host Governor, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, used the occasion to highlight his administration’s strides in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and water supply.
He reiterated his vision to make Zamfara a model for development in the North-West.
The meeting is expected to focus on pressing national issues, including security challenges, economic revival, and strengthening inter-state collaboration.
Also on the agenda is the forthcoming PDP National Convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, from November 15 to 16, 2025.
Political observers believe the outcome of the Zamfara meeting will play a significant role in shaping the PDP’s strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
