Azara, Awe LGA – It was a day of celebration and honor in Azara, Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, led other lawmakers and dignitaries to grace a grand occasion hosted by the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Suleiman Yakubu Azara.
The event, which featured a triple celebration—the wedding of Hon. Azara’s daughter, Jameela, his turbaning as Santalma Azara, and the commissioning of a newly built Magistrate Court drew dignitaries and well-wishers from within and outside the state.
Commissioning the Magistrate Court, Speaker Jatau applauded Hon. Azara for his people-oriented leadership and commitment to rural development.
He described the court project as a bold step toward improving access to justice and governance at the grassroots.
At the Emir’s palace, traditional fanfare reached its peak as Hon. Suleiman Yakubu Azara was officially turbaned with the revered title of Santalma Azara by the Emir of Azara, Dr. Kabiru Musa Ibrahim, in recognition of his outstanding service and representation.
The Emir, while welcoming the Speaker and his entourage, lauded the Assembly's continued support for developmental legislation and described their presence as a symbol of unity and respect for the people of Azara.
The occasion also witnessed the solemnization of the marriage between Zakari Mohammed Nagoda and Jameela Suleiman Azara.
The Chief Imam of Azara, Mallam Ibrahim Abdullahi, officiated the ceremony, pronouncing them husband and wife after the payment of a N200,000 dowry and fulfillment of other Islamic rites.
He urged the newlyweds to uphold the sanctity and values of marriage.
The colorful ceremony was further enriched by traditional praise singers and cultural displays, leaving lasting memories in the hearts of attendees.
