The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has confirmed 17 out of the 18 nominees appointed by Governor Abdullahi Sule as Administrators of the state’s newly established Area Administrative Councils.

The confirmations followed the screening of nominees during plenary in Lafia, presided over by Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau.

Speaker Jatau, while announcing the confirmations, stated that the appointment of Mr. Bashir Zubairu as Administrator for Farin Ruwa Area Administrative Council was stepped down, pending further legislative action. However, members nominated for the same council were confirmed.

Qualified Professionals Dominate List

Notably, the list of confirmed appointees includes high-level professionals such as a professor and a PhD holder, signaling a deliberate push for competence and quality governance.

Speaker Jatau congratulated the confirmed administrators and members on their appointments and urged them to remain upright, transparent, and committed to service delivery if eventually sworn in by the executive.
