The Nasarawa State Government has announced plans to relocate the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH) from its current location in Lafia to Akwanga, with an estimated cost of N2 billion allocated for the project.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs , Comrade Peter Ahemba disclosed this during a press briefing held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Lafia.

He explained that Akwanga was selected due to its strategic location, serving as a central point for residents from the northern senatorial district and neighboring communities.

The relocation, he said, would ease pressure on medical facilities in Lafia and promote healthcare delivery in underserved areas.

Further details on the timeline for the relocation and commencement of construction are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
