A civic advocacy group has appealed to Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, to ratify the outcome of the recently conducted interview for the appointment of a substantive Rector for Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic, Lafia.

The group, in a public statement, expressed confidence in the transparency and fairness of the selection process, which they described as thorough and evidence-based. According to their findings, the former Acting Rector, Dr. Nurudeen Maifata, emerged as the best-performing candidate, scoring 81 points far ahead of the second and third contenders, who reportedly scored 50 and 40 points respectively.

“We have reviewed the outcome of the interview, and it is clear that Dr. Maifata's performance was outstanding. It would only be just and fair for the process to be respected and for him to be confirmed as the substantive Rector,” the group stated.

They also lauded Governor Sule for his well-known stance on meritocracy and fairness, noting that the Governor’s commitment to institutional integrity and excellence has never been in doubt.

“As we know, His Excellency is a man of integrity who believes in due process and competence. We trust that he will uphold the result and confirm the appointment in line with the principles of justice and transparency,” the statement added.

The group further stressed the importance of ensuring stability and continuity in the institution, especially at a time when the Polytechnic is witnessing key academic and administrative reforms.
