In a smooth and cordial transition of leadership at the Ministry of Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi has officially taken over as the new Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Nasarawa State, succeeding Barr. Hauwa Samuel who now returns to the Ministry of Women Affairs.
During her farewell remarks, the outgoing Attorney General, Barr. Hauwa Samuel, expressed appreciation to staff of the ministry for their cooperation and support throughout her tenure. She called on them to extend the same support and loyalty to her successor, describing him as a colleague and worthy team player.
“I sincerely thank you all for the way you handled and worked with me. I urge you to give the same maximum cooperation to my colleague, the new Attorney General. I am confident he will do even more with your support,” she stated.
Taking over the mantle, Barr. Isaac Danladi described his return as a "homecoming," noting his long-standing history with the Ministry of Justice and the public service.
He shared that he left the ministry in 1992, and after serving in various legal and administrative roles, including Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, he is now back to serve the state in a higher capacity.
“As a former permanent secretary who retired only a few months ago, I understand the workings of both the bureaucracy and political office.
I am ready to blend both experiences to drive the vision of His Excellency,” he said.
Barr. Danladi emphasized the importance of teamwork, mutual respect, and dedication to the shared goal of actualizing the governor’s development agenda. He appealed to staff to regard him as a brother and collaborator committed to institutional growth.
The incoming Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Dr. Margaret Itake Elayo, who also graced the event, spoke in solidarity with her colleague, describing Danladi as “a good soul” with humility, a learning spirit, and a genuine passion for service.
“I urge the staff of the ministry to shield and support him because when he shines, the ministry shines. We are all here to promote the legacy of His Excellency, and teamwork is essential,” she remarked.
Dr. Elayo also applauded the governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, for what she called “a deliberate and visionary realignment” of the cabinet, saying the changes reflect a commitment to strategic governance.
The brief ceremony ended on a note of unity, with staff and officials expressing optimism for a smooth transition and renewed dedication to justice delivery in Nasarawa State.
