In an electrifying conclusion to the inaugural CMD Cup, Team Management emerged victorious with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Team NANNM.

The match, held at the hospital’s sports complex, drew enthusiastic cheers from staff and spectators alike as both teams displayed remarkable skill and determination.

Team NANNM opened the scoring in the first half, taking an early lead that put the pressure on their opponents. However, Team Management rallied in the second half with a spirited comeback, netting two goals in the 10th and 46th minutes to claim the coveted title.

Speaking at the post-match ceremony, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr. Ikrama Hassan, praised the players and reflected on the broader purpose of the competition.
"This initiative aims to promote physical activity, improve health, and strengthen camaraderie among hospital staff.

We want to strike a balance between work and play because, as the saying goes, 'all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,'" he stated.

Dr. Hassan emphasized the unique nature of the competition, noting that all participants were hospital staff. This internal arrangement ensured the event was both cost-effective and sustainable.

He also hinted at plans to expand the competition in the future to include other sports such as basketball and tennis.

The CMD encouraged other organizations across the state to adopt similar initiatives, highlighting their potential to enhance physical and mental well-being while addressing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases like hypertension, diabetes, and cancer.

The event resonated with attendees, who lauded the sense of unity and talent displayed by the hospital workforce. It was also an opportunity to highlight the hospital's vision for progress.

Dr. Hassan outlined plans to improve healthcare services, upgrade equipment, and strengthen staff capacity to deliver enhanced care.

The CMD Cup is set to become a cherished tradition within the hospital, fostering teamwork, fitness, and relaxation among its workforce.

As the curtain fell on this year’s competition, it was evident that the event had achieved its goals of promoting health and building stronger bonds among hospital staff.
