The Chairman, NUJ Benue State Council, Comrade Bemdoo Ugber, has extended congratulations to Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, on his successful election as the President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists at the recently concluded National Triennial Delegates Conference in Owerri, Imo State on November 28, 2024.
In his congratulatory message to the new NUJ President, Comrade Ugber highlighted the overwhelming support shown by journalists from the thirty-seven councils across Nigeria, emphasizing their confidence in Comrade Yahaya.
The Chairman urged the new head of the Pen Profession to lead with excellence, uphold the integrity of the union, and prioritize the welfare of all members.
He also encouraged Comrade Yahaya to embrace his co-contestants and be open to constructive criticisms for the betterment of the union, calling on them to support the new President with their innovative ideas.
Additionally, Comrade Ugber appealed for the inclusion of the Benue State Council in the national agenda of the Union to help recover its standing after a prolonged crisis.
He extended congratulations to all other national officials who emerged unopposed and offered prayers for their successful tenure.
"The NUJ Benue State Council eagerly anticipates a productive and harmonious working relationship with the new National Working Committee under the leadership of Comrade Alhassan Yahaya".
