In the early hours of Monday, September 2nd, a fire broke out in a section of the Katsina State Government House, causing significant damage to the chamber adjacent to the governor’s office.
This chamber, commonly referred to as the "Red Chamber," is where Governor Dikko Radda hosts important personalities and dignitaries.
According to reports, the fire started around 6 am. The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined, but firefighting efforts were swiftly initiated.
Alhaji Bashir, a resident living near the Government House, reported seeing a fire service truck rush to the scene shortly after 6 am, following morning prayers. He stated,
“I saw a fire service truck rushing in. I later learned that there was an inferno inside the red chamber where Governor Dikko used to host guests.”
Efforts are ongoing to assess the full extent of the damage and determine the cause of the fire. Authorities are expected to provide further updates as more information becomes available.
