Governor Sule Honored as Grand Patron of Nasarawa State SWAN

In a notable ceremony at the Government House in Lafia, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State was officially decorated as the Grand Patron of the Sports Writers' Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Nasarawa State Chapter. 

The event, graced by prominent personalities including SWAN’s National President, Comrade Benjamin Isaiah, and other key officials, saw the Governor express his gratitude for the honor and reaffirm his commitment to advancing sports in the state.

Governor Sule highlighted the state's sporting potential, emphasizing the recent success of Nasarawa’s young tennis star, Ismail Shuaibu, who has drawn international attention.

 He reiterated his administration’s ongoing efforts to promote talent and sports development, pledging full support for SWAN and its initiatives.

SWAN’s National President praised Governor Sule for his contributions to sports and journalism, while the Nasarawa State SWAN Chairman, Comrade Smah George, lauded the Governor’s role in promoting the state’s football clubs and sports sector achievements. 

The Governor was also urged to host the next SWAN National Executive Council meeting in Nasarawa, a proposal he welcomed enthusiastically.

The ceremony concluded with the Governor’s formal decoration as Grand Patron, marking a new chapter of collaboration between the state and the sports writers' community.
