In a statement signed by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, led a high-powered delegation to Maiduguri, Borno State, to extend condolences to the government and people of Borno over the recent devastating flood.
The flood, which affected parts of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council and Jere Local Government Area, caused significant loss of lives, destruction of property, and farmlands.
Governor Idris, while sympathizing with Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, described the flood as one of the worst disasters in Nigeria's history.
He urged the people of Borno to see the incident as an act of Allah and offered prayers for the repose of the departed souls, while expressing hopes that such calamities would not happen again.
The Kebbi State Governor was accompanied by key officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida; Chief of Staff, Barrister Attahiru Maccido; and various commissioners.
Governor Zulum, in response, thanked Governor Idris for his prompt visit, highlighting the strong relationship between Kebbi and Borno States.
