The Immediate past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi has urged newly married couples to adhere strictly to the principles of marriage to build an egalitarian home for their families. 

The he said for a successful marriage to be achieved, couples must embrace true love, peace, sacrifice, tolerance and understanding as well as always settle their differences without involvement of third party. 

The former Speaker, who is the Chairman, Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State made the call during the wedding fatiha between Asmua Yakubu Kwarra, daughter to Hon. Abdul-Hamid Yakubu Kwarra, a One time Majority Leader of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly who represented Wamba constituency and her husband, Yahaya Abdullahi Kuku today in Lafia.

The former Speaker said that sacrifice, understanding, true love and avoidance of third party during disputes among other good virtues are necessary for successful marriage.

" We are here to show solidarity and I want to congratulate the groom and the bride for their successful marriage.

" I want to call on them to embrace love, peace, effective communication, show understanding among other good attributes for their successful married home" he said.

The former Speaker also urged them to always avoid third party interference for the overall development of their family and prayed God to bless their new home. 

Besides, Balarabe Abdullahi called on the people of the State and Nigerians to keep hope alive, pray fervently and support Gov. Abdullahi Sule and President Bola Tinubu to succeed.

On his part, Hon. Abdulhamid Yakubu Kwarra, also one time Commissioner of Information in the State and father of the Bride while congratulating  them on their successful wedding, prayed God for peaceful and blessed marriage.

" Today, I am happy for the successful wedding of my daughter and her husband as it is the hope and joy of every parent to see his children grow and get married" he said. 

He also urged the couple to embrace tolerance, love, unity, peace, patience and understanding for their marriage to be successful.

The State former Commissioner for Information appreciated all those who came from far and near to witness the wedding fatiha of his daughter and prayed God to return them to their various destinations safely.

On their parts, the Gom  Mama of Mama Chiefdom Alhaji Mustapha Bala Zubairu Adams, who stood in for the Bride's father also congratulated the couple and wished them happy married life thus reminding them on the need to adhere strictly to the ethics of the marriage institution. 

It was reported that Alhaji Abdullahi Sabo stood in for the Groom's father and acknowledged the payment of N200,000 as dowry.

Earlier, the Chief Iman of Angwan Toni Mosque, Lafia, Mallam Kabiru while presiding over the wedding fatiha pronounced Yahaya and Asmau as husband and wife after the payment of  N200,000 as dowry and  presentation of medical certificates.

He also urged them not to allow third party interfere in their marriage.

The Chief Imam further prayed for the unity, peace, progress and development of the country.

It would be reported that the wedding fatiha had in attendance Hon. Mohammed Ibrahim Agah Muluku, Hon. Abdulkarim Usman Obamas, former member representing Akwanga/ Nassarawa Eggon/ Wamba federal constituency, Hon. Tanko Tunga, former Majority Leader of the state legislature, Hon. Aliyu Dogara, Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa, Secretary, Teachers Service Commission, Hon. Ibrahim Mascolo, Hon. Isah Musa KK, Hon. Baba Ibaku and Emir of Azara Dr. Kabir Musa Ibrahim among other well wishers.
