The Benue State Assembly's ad hoc committee on emergency recently visited the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (Benue-SEMA) in a bid to enhance support for displaced populations in the state.

Chaired by Rt. Honourable Michael Audu, the committee discussed the importance of collaboration to address the challenges faced by internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Benue State.

Sir James Aondoakaa Iorpuu, Executive Secretary of Benue-SEMA, appreciated the committee's dedication and highlighted ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of IDPs to their homes.

However, he also mentioned pressing challenges such as the health crisis in IDP camps and the need for operational vehicles.

Despite these obstacles, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working together to improve the welfare of displaced populations in Benue State.
