The Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA), a non Governmental Organisation has raised an alarm warning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be wary of companies that violate the nation's laws and endanger public health, such as Coca-Cola.

This warning comes after Coca-Cola re-promised a $1 billion investment in Nigeria, a commitment that was previously unfulfilled under the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

CAPPA criticized Coca-Cola for its history of deceptive trade practices and failure to comply with court orders regarding public health concerns in their products.

"Despite recent findings by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) exposing Coca-Cola's unethical behavior, the Nigerian Government has continued to endorse the company, potentially undermining public health policies like the Sugar-Sweetened Beverages (SSBs) tax".

CAPPA urged the government to prioritize the well-being of Nigerians over corporate interests and hold companies like Coca-Cola accountable for their actions.
