The Director General of the National Directorate of Employment, Silas Agara, has called for greater political inclusion of women in Nasarawa State. He described his recent appointment as a victory for all and urged the people of the state to view it as an opportunity to strengthen governance.

Agara made this statement while receiving various political pressure groups and All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts at his Akwanga residence on Saturday.

Among the groups that came to congratulate him were the Voice of Women, Nasarawa North Women Progressive Forum, the Forum of Former APC Chairmen, and APC Party Executives from Gudi Ward, as well as other groups like the Nagari Women Forum and the Lallah Development Coalition.

In his address to the groups, Agara emphasized the need to revitalize the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) for greater efficiency.

He also highlighted the importance of unity and self-support among women to achieve political goals, particularly in the forthcoming local government elections.

Agara aligned himself with the call for the election of female deputy chairmen across the thirteen local government councils in the state, advocating for broader women’s participation in governance.

He further urged women to rally behind government policies and programs that prioritize female inclusion in leadership roles.
