Vice President Kashim Shettima Commissions Fashion Hub In Benue State

Nigeria's Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has commissioned a multi-purpose Fashion Hub in Benue State, North Central Nigeria.

Represented by the Deputy Chief of staff to the President in the Office of the Vice President, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, the Vice President praised Governor Hyacinth Alia for his dedication to the success of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Clinic in the state, particularly with the establishment of the Fashion and ICT Hub.

According to the Vice President, the Fashion and ICT Hub, described as the largest in the country, is designed to empower the youth and promote creativity and innovation in the state's fashion industry, signifying the government's push for industrialization.

Vice President Shettima stated that the project was a fulfillment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's promise of job creation and accessible capital to Nigerians with an unparalleled spirit of industry that defines the people of Benue State.

The ultra-modern ICT and fashion hub is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy and create employment opportunities.

During the one-day visit, Vice President Shettima also commissioned the Benue Printing and Publishing Corporation, which has been rehabilitated and upgraded with ultra-modern digital equipment through a Public-Private Partnership arrangement.

Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, Doris Ozoka-Anite, further commended Governor Alia for his efforts in supporting job creation.

She highlighted the partnership between the Federal Government and Government of Benue State as crucial for its role in ensuring the success of the fashion hub.

Meanwhile, Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, emphasized the significance of the newly commissioned Fashion and ICT hub in driving growth and development in Benue State.

The project, he explained, was part of the administration's vision for a prosperous and empowered state, aimed at promoting creativity, innovation, and employment opportunities.

Governor Alia praised the Federal Government for the support in setting up the fashion hub, which he said is expected to harness the abundant talents of the Benue youth and contribute to economic development, while also appealing for more interventions from the Federal Government.

He expressed his commitment to leveraging the hub as a catalyst for growth not only in Benue State but across the entire Middle Belt region of the country.

Overall, the Governor expressed optimism about the future of Benue State and emphasized the importance of collaboration to achieve sustainable development and economic transformation.

It would be recalled that during his last visit to the state for the inauguration of the Expanded National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Clinic in Makurdi, tagged 

“Benue Open for Business," Vice President Shettima announced plans to establish a World-Class Fashion Hub in Benue State.
