National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and Women Group under auspice of Zaria Tafiyar Al'umma Multipurpose Cooperative Society are going into partnership to against illicit drug abuse among the Society especially Youth through awareness campaign on the dangers of the drug abuse.
The Commander of the Agency, Kaduna State Command CN Samaila Danmallam has said when he hosted Officials of the Group led by it's President, Haj Rukayya Abubakar Sagir on Courtesy Visit in his office.
He explained that for his Agency to achieve it's objective of fighting drug abuse there was need to involve Women as they played significant role on matters that have do with youth as mothers.
"I want assure you that we at NDLEA are ready support and encourage you with necessary logistics in terms of resource personnel to achieve the target objective in the fight against drug abuse through organizing Seminar and Sensitization program.
"It may interest you to know that our work goes beyond arrests, seizures and prosecutions it also include rehabilitation and counselling for drug users." CN Danmallam said
In his contribution DCN, Mohammed Ibrahim said that Women were being used by Criminals because they (women) won't be arrested hence the need to partner with Society especially Mothers them in the fight against the menace.
Similarly ACN Bappa Kauwa Yola urged members of the public to imbibe the culture of drug testing before any marriage as the case was with HIV test.
Earlier the President of the society told the Commander that they were there partner with his agency In the fight against drug abuse considering the fact that it was a collective responsibility and assured him that that her members would do everything possible to assist the agency in that direction.
She therefore called on individuals and Groups to also key into the exercise as the drug addicts were their Children as such all hand must be on deck to rescue the addicts the menace inorder to be useful to them selves and the Society.
