In a remarkable display of compassion and generosity, the First Lady of Nasarawa State, Hajiya Silifat AA Sule, has fully covered the medical expenses for three-year-old Umar Yakubu, an orphan from Wamba Local Government Area, who is undergoing critical intestinal surgeries at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).
Umar Yakubu, whose condition required urgent and complex surgical intervention, faced an uncertain future due to the financial constraints of his family.
Recognizing the dire situation, Hajiya Silifat Sule stepped in to ensure that the young boy received the necessary medical care, personally taking on the responsibility of settling all his hospital bills.
The Chief Medical Director of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Dr. Ikrama Hassan, officially handed over a sum of ₦400,000 to Umar’s grandmother, Mrs. Halima Abubakar, on behalf of the First Lady.
This generous contribution covered the full cost of the surgeries and related medical expenses, easing the burden on the family during this challenging time.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Mrs. Halima Abubakar thanked the First Lady for her timely and life-saving support.
She praised Hajiya Silifat Sule for her kindness, noting that the intervention has not only saved her grandchild’s life but has also restored hope to their family.
