A famous University Don, Professor Wilfred Uji has warned against a bourgeoisie protest in Nigeria, stating that the planned protest was not in the national interest but in the interest of the ruling business and political class.

He highlighted the conflict of interest over the scramble for the nation's resources, especially in the oil sector, and criticized the agenda of the past political leaders who have led the country into economic misery.

Uji emphasized the need for a people-oriented revolutionary protest through the ballot process rather than a selective punitive protest led by failed political leaders.

The former Head of Department, History and International Studies and a past Director of Open Distance and E Learning T the Federal University, Lafia called for a strong, clear ideology, transparent leadership, and democratic processes for any protest to be successful.

The academic guru also warned against the gullibility of political leaders and desperation of the poor masses, urging President Bola Tinubu to uphold law and order amid potential violence during the protest.

Ultimately, Uji stressed the importance of using constitutional instruments and platforms for achieving desirable change and avoiding anarchy, just as he called for a review of economic policies to make them more people-friendly and affordable for the masses.
