Press Statement: Cross River Speaker Commends Colleagues, Announces House Committee Dissolution

In a plenary session marking the first anniversary of the 10th Assembly, the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, has expressed profound gratitude to his colleagues for their unwavering support. 
In a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary, to the speaker Matthew Okache quoted his principal attributed the Assembly's successes over the past year to the cooperation and dedication of its Members.

Hon. Ayambem also thanked Almighty God for preserving the lives of the Assembly Members and staff, urging for continued unity and collaboration to achieve the House's objectives.

 He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the Assembly's collective interests over personal agendas.

"I thank you for attending plenary today despite the short notice, and for your continued support. We must look forward and work as a team to improve the lives of our citizens.

 The interests of the House must supersede personal interests," Ayambem stated.

During the session, the Speaker announced the dissolution of all House committees except for the Committee on Lands, which is currently engaged in an ongoing assignment.

 He also highlighted ongoing renovation work at the Assembly Complex, promising a more conducive and aesthetically pleasing environment, along with improved power supply for the comfort and efficiency of the Members.

The Speaker commended Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu for his remarkable achievements in the past year, expressing confidence in the restoration of the State's past glory.
