In a decisive move to curb potential unrest, the Executive Chairman of Lafia Local Government Council, Hon. Aminu Muazu Maifata, convened an emergency security meeting on Sunday.
During the session, he strongly urged residents, especially youths, to avoid social vices and back the state’s progress under President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Abudullahi Sule’s APC-led administration.
Maifata also cautioned parents to dissuade their children from joining a planned protest allegedly organized by "Hoodlums" aiming to damage property and disrupt governance.
The Chairman expressed appreciation to security personnel, traditional and religious leaders, and community unions for their support.
The Emir of Lafia, HRH Hon. Justice Sidi Bage Mohammad 1 ( RTD), represented by Alh. Musa Abubakar Mamser, pledged the Emirate’s commitment to discouraging youths from engaging in destructive acts.
The meeting concluded with a resolution to:
1. Warn youths against destructive actions.
2. Support security agencies in maintaining peace.
3. Encourage community leaders to promote peace and development.
